1975 : Josephine Baker, American-born French dancer, singer, and actress, born Freda Josephine McDonald, died while in a coma after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage, in Paris, France, at the age of 68.

1989 : Herbert Mills, born in Piqua, Ohio. American vocalist. (The Mills Brothers - baritone or tenor), died in in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 77.

1999 : Boxcar Willie, American country music singer of the "old-time hobo" music style, born Lecil Travis Martin, died from leukemia in Branson, Missouri, at the age of 67.
