1987 : Maxine Sullivan, American jazz vocalist and performer, born Marietta Williams, died in New York City at the age of 75.

1998 : Carlos Vega, Cuba-born, Los Angeles-based session drummer, committed suicide by shooting himself at the age of 41. (w/James Taylor and many others - drums)

2000 : Heinz Burt, German-born bassist and singer, born Heinz Henry George Schwarz in Detmold and raised in Hampshire, England, died following a stroke in Eastleigh, Hampshire, at the age of 57. He was suffering from motor neuron disease. (The Tornados)
