1986 : Thad Jones, born Thaddeus Joseph Jones in Pontiac, Michigan. American jazz trumpeter, composer and bandleader., died after being hospitalized for months in Copenhagen, Denmark, at the age of 63. The cause of his death has not been published.

1997 : Nick Traina aka Nicholas (or Nickolas) Traina, American singer, born Nicholas John Steel Traina, committed suicide by morphine overdose at the age of 19. (Link 80)

2005 : Robert Moog, American pioneer of electronic music, best known as the inventor of the Moog synthesizer, born Robert Arthur Moog, died from a brain tumor in Asheville, North Carolina at the age of 71.

2009 : Johnny Carter, American doo-wop and R&B singer, born John E. Carter, died of lung cancer in Harvey, Illinois, at the age of 75. (The Flamingos, The Dells)
