1791 : Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composer of the Classical era, died of "severe miliary fever" in Vienna at the age of 35. The most widely accepted hypotheses is that he died of acute rheumatic fever.

1993 : Doug Hopkins, American musician and songwriter, born Douglas O. Hopkins, committed suicide by shooting himself in Tempe, Arizona, at the age of 32. (Gin Blossoms)
