1979 : Rick Garberson, American post-punk drummer, died by carbon-monoxide poisoning (suicide) at the age of 26. (Bizarros - drums)

1982 : Bill Justis, American pioneer rock and roll musician, composer, and musical arranger, born William Everett Justis Jr., died of cancer in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 55.

1991 : Bert Convy, American actor, singer, game show host and panelist, born Bernard Whalen Convy, died from a brain tumor in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 57. (The Cheers)

2000 : Paul Young, English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, died from the last in a series of heart attacks at his home in Hale, Altrincham, Manchester, at the age of 53. (Sad Café, Mike + The Mechanics - vocals, percussion, keyboards, guitar, bass guitar) - Not to be confused with the solo singer (born 17 January 1956).

2010 : Hank Cochran, American country music singer and songwriter, born Garland Perry Cochran, died two months after the removal of a large aortic aneurysm, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 74.
