1968 : Nervous Norvus, American songwriter and singer, born Jimmy Drake, died of cirrhosis of the liver in an Alameda County hospital, in California, at the age of 56.

1972 : Bobby Ramirez, American drummer, born in Port Arthur, Texas, in 1949, was beaten and kicked to death by thugs in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 23 or 24. Precise date of birth is not known. (Edgar Winter's White Trash)

2011 : Dan Peek, American multi-instrumentalist, born Daniel Milton Peek, died of fibrinous pericarditis in his sleep, at his home in Farmington, Missouri, at the age of 60. (America - lead and backing vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards and harmonica)
