1969 : Shorty Long American soul singer, songwriter, musician, born Frederick Earl Long drowned when his boat capsized on the Detroit River in Michigan at the age of 29.

1975 : Tim Buckley, born Timothy Charles Buckley III American singer and musician, died from "acute heroin/morphine and ethanol intoxication due to inhalation and ingestion of overdose" in L.A. California at the age of 28.
