1792 : Antonio Rosetti died at around the age of 42. Classical era composer and double bass player, contemporary of Haydn and Mozart.
1993 : Wong Ka Kui, aka Koma Wong, Hong Kong singer-songwriter, died after falling from the stage during a TV show and landing on his head at the age of 31. (Beyond - lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, founder member)

1995 : Phyllis Hyman, American singer-songwriter and actress, born Phyllis Linda Hyman, committed suicide by overdosing on pentobarbital and secobarbital in her apartment in New York City, New York, at the age of 45.

2001 : Chet Atkins, born Chester Burton Atkins, American guitarist and record producer who, along with Owen Bradley, created the smoother country music style known as the Nashville sound. He died of cancer at the age of 77.
