1961 : George Formby, English comedy actor, singer-songwriter and comedian, born George Hoy Booth, died after his second heart attack in a hospital in Preston, Lancashire, at the age of 56.

1967 : Nelson Eddy, American singer and actor, born Nelson Ackerman Eddy, died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Palm Beach, Florida, at the age of 65.
