1963 : The Rolling Stones sign with Decca Records in London. Decca had turned down The Beatles the year before.

1963 : Tony Bennett’s "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" wins a Grammy for Record of the Year.

1967 : Paul McCartney first meets Linda Eastman at a Georgie Fame concert in London (they marry two years later).

1971 : Pink Floyd perform by a lake at London's Crystal Palace Bowl. It is reported that the music is so loud that fish die.

1984 : Nils Lofgren joins Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band.
 

1995 : Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Weiland is arrested for heroin and cocaine possession outside a motel in Pasadena. It's the first of his high-profile drug arrests.

2007 : Ike Turner spends a day in a Los Angeles jail over a mistaken warrant.
