1934 : Gustav Holst, English composer, arranger and teacher, born Gustavus Theodore von Holst, died of heart failure, following an operation on his ulcer, in London at the age of 59.

1965 : Sonny Boy Williamson II, American blues harmonica player, singer and songwriter, born Alex Miller, died of an apparent heart attack in Helena, Arkansas, probably around the age of 53. Sonny claimed to have been born on 12-05-1899. There is census evidence, however, that he might have been born around 1912.

1994 : Eric Gale, American jazz and session guitarist, died of lung cancer in Baja, California, Mexico, at the age of 55. (Stuff)
